יהושע ספקטור

נולד ברוסיה בשנת תר"ע (1910).

קיבל חינוכו בבית ספרי עברי ברוסיה.

כבר בזמן המהפכה, נתחנך בתנועת הצופים של הסתדרות הציונים ברוסיה. היה חבר בועד המחוזי ומארגן תנועת צופים ונוער ציוני באוקראינה, וחבר הועד של תנועת נוער ציוני ד. ס. במוסקבה.

בשנת 1926 נאסר כציוני.

בשנת 1929 עלה לארץ.

עבד בפרדסים, בגני-ירק, בחקלאות ובנין בפתחתקוה. וברמת-גן.

חבר ההגנה ופעיל בה משנת 1931. היה מפקד פלוגה בהגנה.

בשנת 1935 היה למרכז לשכת העבודה ומזכיר פועלי הבנין.

בשנות 1940-46 מזכיר האיגוד המקצועי מתכת-אריג.

חבר מזכירות המועצה כל שנות עבודתו במועצת הפועלים וחבר במוסדות המקומיים ברמת גן.

בשנת 1950 חבר עירית רמת-גן.

במלחמת השחרור היה מפקד מחלקה בגדוד חיל רגלים של ההגנה.

שמחה גפני (וינברג)

נולד ביפו. כ"ה טבת תרס"ז (11.1.1907).

לאביו, משה יצחק וינברג (ממייסדי "המזרחי". ראה בספר זה) ולאמו זלטה בת משה ברניקר. קיבל חינוך מסורתי בתלמוד תורה - שערי תורה ביפו, בתחכמוני בירושלים, בוגר בית ספר תיכון למסחר בת''א.

החל בשנת 1925 לעבוד כפקיד בבית המכס ביפו. החל ''בבודק מכס" והתקדם דרך השלבים השונים: מעריך, מחסנאי, גובה וסגן מנהל.

נשא לאשה את שושנה בת אהרן ליפשיץ. אחת עשרה שנה עבד בנמל יפו, ועם פרוץ מאורעות תרצ"ו (1936) כשהונח היסוד לנמל תל-אביב, נתמנה להיות המחסנאי של הנמל החדש מטעם המכס.

במלחמת העולם השניה עבר לבית המכס בראש הניקרה (גבול א"י - לבנון), משם הוא מועבר לבית המכס בחיפה.
